Please reach us at weezieshh@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our priority is finding safe, loving, and permanent homes for our pets. The first step is completing an adoption application, which helps us learn about you, your home, and your lifestyle. Once reviewed, we may recommend a dog that fits your household or schedule a meet-and-greet with a pet you’re interested in.
Home visits are required for all fosters and adopters to ensure a safe environment. If the meet-and-greet goes well, the dog will stay with you for a two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt (FWITA) trial. During this time, you’ll sign the FWITA contract and pay the adoption fee. If the two-week trial is a good fit, we’ll finalize the adoption. If not, the dog may be returned to us per the terms of the FWITA contract.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and most are microchipped before adoption is finalized. From that point on, adopters are responsible for all veterinary care and daily needs of their new pet.
By adopting through us, you agree to our basic requirements, which include:
Yes, as long as your housing allows pets. Please confirm any breed or weight restrictions with your property manager first. While some dogs need more space, we do have pets—such as seniors, smaller breeds, or lower-energy dogs—that thrive in apartments. You’ll need to commit to extra exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization since a yard won’t be available.
Renters are welcome to adopt! We do require written approval from your landlord before finalizing the process.
Yes, and in fact, adoption can be a wonderful family experience. We help guide families to choose a dog that is age-appropriate for their household. As a rule, we do not place large or high-energy dogs with children under three. Children under 12 should never be left unsupervised with any dog. Parents must provide clear guidance on safe and respectful pet interactions.
No. While a yard can be helpful for quick potty breaks or playtime, it is not required. Dogs need structured exercise and engagement, which can be provided through walks, runs, and visits to dog parks. What matters most is your commitment to daily exercise and enrichment.
Absolutely! Many of our adopters already share their homes with other animals. A meet-and-greet will always be arranged to ensure compatibility. Some dogs may not be suited to multi-pet households, and this will be noted in their bios. As long as your current pets are healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations, bringing a new rescue into your home is usually safe.
